Trivia[]
- The movie that Kim and Jack star in is a parody of the 2012 film Hunger Games.
- The title of both movies are similar (The Karate Games and The Hunger Games).
- The main protagonists, Kim and Jack, bare some similarities to the two main characters Katniss and Peeta. At one point, Kim's character is mentioned to be a "hunter", just like Katniss.
- Dolph Gruber constantly mentions that the movie is a "fight for survival" like the original.
- Kim and Jack's characters are mentioned to be from numbered "zones" (5 and 8). This is an obvious reference to the "districts" from the original (Katniss and Peeta are from District 12).
- At the beginning of the games Kim and Jack's characters rise up into a wilderness setting like the original.
- The melee combat scene at the beginning may be a reference to the cornucopia "blood bath" that occurred at the beginning of the Games in the original.
- Both sets of love interests share kisses in their respective films (or in Jack and Kim's case, an almost kiss).
